Restoration and modernization of Grade II * listed Belgravia property

This generous property includes a basement and four storeys, built in the early 19th century. It is part of the Grade II* listed terrace within the Belgravia Conservation Area. The plot also features an extension to the rear on Wilton Mews street. Since the 1940s, the house has served as the headquarters of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, with the Wilton Mews extension added in the early 1950s. We were tasked with restoring the building to its original use, converting it into a single-family dwelling with high-quality amenities.

Balancing the building’s historical significance with modern family requirements presented a challenge. We preserved the essence of the original spaces while meeting contemporary high-end standards. Additionally, we designed a new extension to include leisure amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, sauna, games room, dining and kitchen area, and a two-car garage. The mews extension integrates with the main building, respecting the traditional hierarchy of storeys and creating a seamless transition from the historical to the modern.

Beyond architectural quality and finishes, the development features a full Interior Design scheme and advanced technology. Domotics, remote security control with CCTV, intelligent lighting, under-floor heating, air conditioning, and high-speed internet bring this historic building into the 21st century.
