Conversion from Offices to High-End Residential 

This project represents the conversion of offices into a high-end residence in one of Belgravia’s most prestigious addresses. The property, built in the early 19th century, forms part of a Grade II* listed terrace within the Belgravia Conservation Area. It includes a basement and four storeys, together with a rear extension onto Wilton Mews. For much of the 20th century, the house served as the headquarters of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. However, the mews extension was only added in the 1950s. Our task was to return this remarkable building to its original use and transform it into a luxury single-family residence with world-class amenities.

Balancing architectural heritage with modern living requirements was central to the design approach. The scheme preserved the character of the historic interiors. At the same time, it reimagined them to meet contemporary standards of comfort and elegance. A new extension was designed to provide leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, gym, sauna, games room, open-plan kitchen, dining area, and a two-car garage. In addition, the integration of the Wilton Mews addition was carefully managed to respect the traditional hierarchy of storeys. This ensured a seamless flow between historic architecture and modern design.

Beyond architectural restoration, the residence also incorporates a complete interior design scheme and advanced technology. Features include domotics, intelligent lighting, remote-controlled security with CCTV, underfloor heating, air conditioning, and high-speed connectivity. As a result, the property blends classical proportions with 21st-century innovation. This shows how a conversion from offices to high-end residential use can honour history while delivering luxury family living.
