Interior Design of an Art Deco Penthouse in Pimlico

This duplex penthouse in Pimlico was acquired by our clients from the developers who converted a well-proportioned Art Deco block of flats. We were commissioned for the interior design — new furniture and bespoke joinery — while also revising the lighting and meeting the clients’ particular requirements.

The result is a contemporary, elegant home, with a considered combination of new and vintage pieces that adds to its character. Bright walls and bold colours bring texture and light, while the bedrooms are treated in warmer tones and wallpapers to create a feeling of comfort.

The upper level, though generously tall, sits within the building’s newly built mansard roof — which left very few straight walls. We designed a piece of joinery to resolve this, concealing the sloping ceiling within a unit that provides shelving and storage, and incorporating a sliding element that reveals a large-format television.
