Basement and ground floor extension of a maisssonnette apartment

This maisonette flat within an early Victorian Listed Building in St John’s Wood, was the subject of a partial modernisation which had to include a new glazed rear extension providing a Dining area and a Den while at the same time extending the lower ground floor to provide additional space to the master bedroom with a well lighten dressing room. The main challenges were to achieve a modern structure which would have a little impact to the character of the listed building and secondly the excavation of the lower patio to create the enlarged lower ground floor with all the issues that involve extending underground. The results speak for themselves.
