Bright Breakfast Area Extension to a Listed Building Property

Our client wanted to create a new breakfast area to enjoy with his growing family. The Queen Anne style house backs onto a beautiful French manicured garden, whose symmetry any extension to the house would have ruined. The proposal was to create two similar structures on either side of the garden: one roofed and glazed to provide the breakfast area, and the other completely open as a pergola, providing shade and completing the symmetry. We broke with the period of the house and created instead a Japanese-inspired garden structure.
